CFD – Flow Simulation

CFD analysis (CFD: Computational Fluid Dynamics) is a method of fluid mechanics. It uses the finite volume method and enables the approximation of flows (liquids and gases). It offers a cost-effective alternative to tests and enables fast and efficient optimization of the geometry.

CFD Services in Detail

Flow analysis

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) provides an overview of the velocity and pressure distribution of a flow. Based on the results, the resulting forces on a structure or the pressure loss when flowing through a certain geometry can be determined.

Flow acoustics

Following a CFD simulation, the position of acoustic sources can be identified and efficient measures can be taken to prevent unwanted noise development. In addition, the flow can usually be optimized in parallel.

Combustion simulation

With the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) method, combustions can be simulated and optimized on the computer. This allows costs in development to be significantly reduced and innovations to be brought to market even faster.

Cooling design

For efficient cooling, heat conduction (FEM) is just as essential as heat dissipation to the surrounding fluid (CFD). An analysis of the cooling system provides a significant advantage here.
